Connecting the Easy Critical CSS API allows the plugin to automatically generate Critical CSS for your site. Once connected, you no longer need to manually enter Critical CSS.
Option 1: Connect the API from the plugin
This is the fastest and recommended way to connect the API.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Settings > Easy Critical CSS > Get API Key.
- You will be taken to the pricing screen. Choose a plan and click Upgrade Now.
- Complete checkout.
- Return to Settings > Easy Critical CSS and set Critical CSS Mode to Auto (Requires API).

Option 2: Purchase API access from the website
You can also purchase API access directly from the Easy Critical CSS website.
- Visit criticalcss.net and choose a plan.
- Complete checkout.
- Check your email for your API key.

Once you have your API key, add it in WordPress.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins.
- Find Easy Critical CSS and click Add API Key.
- Paste your API key and click Agree & Activate License.
- Go to Settings > Easy Critical CSS and set Critical CSS Mode to Auto (Requires API).

Confirm the API is connected
After activating your API key and switching to Auto mode, you should see a green status box that says Auto mode ready.

If the API is connected successfully, Critical CSS will be generated automatically and injected on the frontend.
