Connect the Easy Critical CSS API

Connecting the Easy Critical CSS API allows the plugin to automatically generate Critical CSS for your site. Once connected, you no longer need to manually enter Critical CSS.


Option 1: Connect the API from the plugin

This is the fastest and recommended way to connect the API.

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Settings > Easy Critical CSS > Get API Key.
  2. You will be taken to the pricing screen. Choose a plan and click Upgrade Now.
  3. Complete checkout.
  4. Return to Settings > Easy Critical CSS and set Critical CSS Mode to Auto (Requires API).

Option 2: Purchase API access from the website

You can also purchase API access directly from the Easy Critical CSS website.

  1. Visit criticalcss.net and choose a plan.
  2. Complete checkout.
  3. Check your email for your API key.

Once you have your API key, add it in WordPress.

  1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins.
  2. Find Easy Critical CSS and click Add API Key.
  3. Paste your API key and click Agree & Activate License.
  4. Go to Settings > Easy Critical CSS and set Critical CSS Mode to Auto (Requires API).

Confirm the API is connected

After activating your API key and switching to Auto mode, you should see a green status box that says Auto mode ready.

If the API is connected successfully, Critical CSS will be generated automatically and injected on the frontend.
